Sandra "Sandy" Ann (Hemp) Ressler

Sandra Ann “Sandy” Ressler (nee Hemp), age 87, passed away peacefully on June 13th 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Born on may 25, 1938, in Greenville, Ohio, Sandy lived a life marked by warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Sandy was the beloved daughter of Lloyd E. “Jim” Hemp and Irene M. Coates Hemp. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her brother, William (Charlene) Hemp and sisters, Cinda Bradley and Linda (Randy) Beckstedt.

She married Dwayne “JR” Ressler, with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing. Together they built a home filled with love and laughter-a place where all were welcome. Sandy’s home became a sanctuary not only for her own children, but also for countless others who found comfort within its walls. Whether it was to heal, celebrate, cry, or laugh, many people, young and old came to her farm seeking solace and left feeling embraced by her kindness.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Sandy is lovingly remembered by her children: Teresa (Ken) Delk, Jeffrey (Julie) Ressler, and Becky (James) Conley. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren- Joshua Ressler, Jeremy Ressler, Austin (Allanah) Constable, Patrick (Kathryn) Louis and Jessica (fiancé Aaron Karns) and Emily Conley-and several great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years.

Sandy was known for being loving, funny, dependable, stable, determined, and above all else-a safe harbor for those around her. She wore many hats throughout her life: mother, grandmother, caregiver, and friend to many. Her generosity of spirit extended far beyond family ties; she had an open heart that welcomed everyone.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Lewisburg First, United Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. and interment will take place in Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Preble County Counsel on Aging, 800 E.
