ARY, Norman “Gene”

Age 87, of Arcanum, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his residence with his loving wife by his side. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Olive (Eubank) Ary; his beloved daughter Cheryl Ary; and a sister Roberta Shope. Gene was a member of Abbottsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to steam thresher shows, old country music, watching old western shows. He worked for Troutwine Auto for 37 years until his retirement. Norman loved working on cars. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports and his 5 great-grandchildren that was the pride of his life. He is survived by his wife of 67 years A. Faye (Shahan) Ary; sons, Rick Ary (Myra) and Dale Ary (Darlene); grandchildren, Derek Ary (Catherine), Nick Ary (Christina) and Danielle Bourne (Joel); his great-grandchildren, Gracie Ary, Makenna Ary and Sadie, Monroe and Aryanna Bourne; and a brother Richard “Dick” Ary (Rosemary). Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 11a.m.–1p.m. at Abbottsville United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 1p.m. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.kreitzerfuneralhome.com.
