Judith Kathleen (Blackburn) Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Judith K. (nee Blackburn)

Age 83, of Arcanum, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. She was born and raised in Union, OH, the daughter of Leslie & Ruby (Gibson) Blackburn. She was a Charter Class Member of the graduating class of 1957 from Randolph High School in Englewood, OH. From 1968 forward, she helped her husband on the farm by working ground, raising hogs and working in tobacco. For 20 of those years, she was a secretary at Tri-State Matchplate and Castings. In her spare time she was an avid reader, enjoyed canning and laughing with family and friends. Judy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Schmidt; daughters, Rhonda Schmidt of Houston, TX, and Valerie Smith of Greenville; son Rob Schmidt of Arcanum; grandchildren, Jodi Baker, Russell Travis Howe, and Matthew Maitlen; great-grandchildren, Branson Landis, Cosima Benton plus many  lifelong friends. Graveside services, officiated by Rev. David Wilson, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, at Abbottsville Cemetery, Arcanum. Arrangements in care of Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 N.
