Age 80, of Arcanum, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital following a brief illness.

John Roger Winger was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 31, 1940 to John Henry and Beatrice (nee. Folkerth) Winger. He was a sheet metal journeyman that retired from local #24 on January 1, 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Lela B. Squires; grandparents; and a very special infant grandson, Zane David.

John is survived by his wife, Shirley Winger; children, Doreen (Doug), John (Janice), Mark (Kim), Kathy (Joe); grandchildren, Adam (Nicole), Chase (Michaela), Veronica, J.J. (Beth), Jenna, Jonell, Mylie (Hunter), Makenzie (Blaine), Matthew, Logan, Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Oaklen, Tyler, Addison, Brock, Leland, Landis, Jeni; brother, Bruce (Evelyn); sisters, Gloria (Jerry – deceased), Dawn (Wayne); sister-in-law, Kay (Walter) Kaye; several cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for John will be held privately at the convenience of the family, with a Celebration of Life held at a later date (to-be-determined).
