ELEY, Glenn Howard
Age 100, of Arcanum, passed away on April 5, 2021 following a brief illness.
Glenn faithfully served our country in the United States Army, 92nd RCN of the 12th Armored Division, during World War II. Along with his service, he was a lifetime member of the 12th Armored Organization. He is also a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 665. Glenn spent 27 years working for the Arcanum Hardware Store (working up until December 2020). He was a 50+ year member of the Wayne Trail Grange. Glenn was also an active member of the Masonic Lodge #295, and was an honored part of the Scottish Rites Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine Club, Darke County Shrine Club, and the Greenville Chapter 77. Glen practiced his faith in Christ at Gordon United Methodist Church. He was a man of many achievements, great love, and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Eley, and siblings, Donald Eley, Elsie Rayburg, Lloyd Eley, & Dale Eley.
Glen is survived by his children, Larry Eley, Terry (Kathy) Eley, Eleta (Dave) Baughman; grandchildren, Jeff (Maureen) Eley, Nevin Eley, Jason Schenck, Julie Schenck, Janelle (Bill) Hattery, Clint Baughman, Katy Baughman, Jim (Beth) Harsh, Trisha Harsh, Tiffany (Chad) Potter; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Nora, & Macy Eley, Whitney & Ashlyn Eley, Beau & Brianna Hattery, Toby & Hayley Potter, Maya & Lana Harsh, Lucas & Lane Baughman, Clayton & Parker Finney, Clohe & Chandler Harsh; great-great-grandchild, Nevaeh Eley; sister, Mildred Hoover, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, 11am, at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH 45304. A Masonic Service with Scottish Rite Ring Service will be held Friday at 11am, followed by the funeral services. A burial with military honors will be held following funeral services. The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10am-11am leading into services.
