Carol Lea Tillett Jackson
Carol Lea Tillett Jackson, age 80 and a follower of Jesus Christ, died and entered the presence of the Lord on December 24, 2020. Carol was a long-time farm resident outside of Arcanum, Ohio.
Carol was born in Dayton, Ohio to Charles and Nellie Green Tillett on June 23, 1940. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1958. Prior to marriage, she worked at NCR in Dayton, Ohio. While living in Dayton, Carol met her future husband, Lee Jackson. They were married on May 27, 1961.
After experiencing the loss of an infant son in 1964, she learned about God’s plan of salvation through Christ while watching a Billy Graham crusade on television. Carol accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and God has used her testimony to lead many family members and friends to Him. Carol was involved with her church, serving as a teacher and leader for many years, and she was a true pray warrior.
Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lee Jackson; three daughters – Mendy (Phil) Norman of Valparaiso, Indiana, Chris (Matt) Oswald of Fresno, Ohio, and Teri (Bill) Russell of Greenville, Ohio; ten grandchildren - Christopher Norman, Jonathan Norman, Vanessa Epperson, Zachary Oswald, Tiffany Newman, Trudy Oswald, Jordan Russell, Tessa Wittmer, Ally Bowers, and Braden Russell; seven great grandchildren, and one sister, Deb Franz, of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Green Tillet, her son, Christopher Lee Jackson, and her brother, Mike Tillet.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Castine Church, Castine, Ohio, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Castine Church, Castine, Ohio, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery, Vandalia, Ohio. In lieu of sending flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to State of the Heart Care in Greenville, Ohio.
