BREHM, Byron

Age 86, of Arcanum, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, October 31, 2019.

He was born June 11, 1933 to the late Herschel and Velna (Sensenbaugh) Brehm, graduated from Monroe High School in 1951, and married Doris (Crawford) on April 21, 1956. He worked 24 years at NCR then went onto a new career selling insurance for the next 32 years. Byron made countless friends along the way. Byron found a passion in woodworking that would continue into his retirement. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop creating and watching “wood come to life” in his many projects. Most of all, he loved sharing and inspiring other to become active in woodworking.  

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Brehm; sisters, Maxine Fourman, Norma Shively, and infant brother, Emerson Brehm.

Byron is survived by his children, Sharon (Doug) Riffell, Darin Brehm and fiancée Lora Pearson; grandchildren, Greg (Erin) Riffell, Monica (Scott) Schuler, Emily (Justin) Bernard, Ryan Brehm, Carissa (Matt) Prickett, Rachel (Lance) Lockman, Allison Brehm, Maria Brehm; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 4, 2019, 10AM at Grace United Methodist Church, 750 Arcanum-Ithaca Rd., Arcanum, OH 45304, with a 1 hour visitation prior to the funeral. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2PM – 5PM also at Grace United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Byron’s memory can be made to State of the Heart Care.
