HOUDESHELL, Ava A.
Age 91, of Greenville, met her Lord & Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the State of Heart Care Center following an extended illness. Ava was born Nov. 16, 1927 to Walter Clay & Maggie Arco Dishman Jones in Middletown, Ohio. Ava was one of four daughters. Betty Clark and Eva Apple were her two older sisters and are both deceased. She leaves one living sister, Mari Leach and many nieces & nephews and their extended families. She married the late Burldean Franklin Houdeshell Aug. 28., 1942. Ava loved studying her bible, reading of all kinds, gardening & nature. She deeply loved and cherished all her family. Her life was a quiet one and she enjoyed her solitude. She leaves one daughter, Rebecca Houdeshell Stephens; three grandsons and daughters-in-law and 11 great-grandchildren. Matthew & Kati Miller Stephens, children, Isaac, Erin & Gabriel; Michael & Jennifer Benedict Stephens, children, Austin, Owen, Eli, Weston, Ashley & Clay and Johnathan & Mary Goodwin Stephens, sons Luke & Drew. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Brethren Retirement Communities Resident Aid Fund. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd from 10:30 a.m – 11:30 a.m. at Kreitzer Funeral Home 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio.
