BAKER, Opal Irene
Age 100, of Greenville (originally Arcanum), went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2018. She was born June 29, 1918 to the late Charley and Pearl Holsapple. In addition to her parents, Opal is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Chalmer Baker; siblings, Lester Holsapple, Clark Holsapple, Clarence Holsapple, Franklin Holsapple, Alta McMillen, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Alan) Greiner, Dixie (David) Kepler; grandson, Ryan Kepler, and numerous other relatives and friends. Opal enjoyed quilting, crocheting, baking cakes, making noodles, and reading her Bible. She was a member of the Castine EUM Church. Also, she attended Grace UMC in Ithaca. Opal worked for many years preparing food in the cafeteria at Butler Schools and loved what she did. Especially all the students she came to know over the years. Opal and Chalmer enjoyed their time together getting to camp and travel across all 50 states. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, 12PM at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH 45304, officiated by Opal’s great-nephew, Steven Wigger. Burial to follow at Abbottsville Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 4 10-12PM leading into the funeral service also at the funeral home.
