KRAUER, Dorothy Elaine

Age 82, of Centerville, passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at St. Leonard Health Center following an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ermal Snyder, and many close friends. She was born in Dayton and raised in Arcanum. Elaine is a 1953 graduate of Arcanum High School and received her nursing diploma from Miami Valley Hospital in 1956. Elaine spent much of her life as a hard working nurse in the Dayton area. She was also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Elaine was truly loved and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Henry “Hank” Krauer; daughter, Julie (Scott) Helkowski; grandson, Andrew Helkowski, and many good friends. Funeral services will be Friday, July 7th, 11AM at Abbottsville United Methodist Church, 4135 Rt. 49, Arcanum, OH 45304. A visitation will be held one and a half hours prior to services, starting at 9:30AM, at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s name to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420, or a church of your choice.
