ZIMMER, Nadine

Age 69, of Arcanum, passed away at home February 2, 2018 following a battle with cancer. Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Kent Zimmer; parents, Levi and Elsie Denlinger; and in-laws Fred and Bea Zimmer.

Nadine was raised in a German Baptist household, which she considers the heart of her upbringing and a wonderful lineage she carries.

She was a proud mother of her two daughters. She enjoyed every moment of being a mother. In her own words, “Meaning of mother is loving, outpouring of emotion, nurturing, learning to get in the heads of the young people (my children)…” She spent much of her time, outside of work, teaching her daughters, coaching them, and volunteering to help whenever she could. She even started the Arcanum High School swim team in 1998. She also was very active in her churches youth group for many years.

Nadine worked as a computer programmer, educator, and tech coordinator. She started her career in 1967 as a computer programmer and some of the programs she wrote continued to be used for decades, paving the way for future generations in the field. She quickly found her passion in educating the youth and serving others.

Nadine is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Jared) Hatch, Tara Zimmer and husband Aaron Ferguson; special friend, Daryl Michael; 5 step-grandchildren; 1 step great-granddaughter; brothers, Edwin (Mary) Denlinger, Ronald (Kathi) Denlinger; several very close friends, whom she considers family, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Tuesday, February 6th at the Pitsburg Church of the Brethren, 8376 Pitsburg-Laura Rd., Arcanum, OH 45304. A visitation will be held 4-8PM Monday, February 5th, also at Pitsburg Church of the Brethren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Pitsburg Church of the Brethren or a charity of your choosing.
