BRITTENHAM, Harriet E.

Age 102, of Arcanum, died on Tue. February 28, 2017 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was born April 8, 1914, to the late Ora & Nelle (Bruner) Staight, near Arcanum. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Brittenham of Arcanum and a nephew’s wife, Rose Staight of Eaton. Also surviving are great-nieces & great-nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Elzer Delbert (Tom) Brittenham, who died Feb. 8 1969, brother James Staight and his wife Ida, nephew, Larry Staight and his wife Jane and nephew Tom Staight. Harriet was a 1932 graduate of Arcanum High School. She was a 91 year member of Faith United Methodist Church, Arcanum. Since 1952, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, also a member of Darke County Genealogy, Inc and Ft. Greeneville DAR. She loved traveling and has been in all 50 states and at least 19 countries. She loved all animals, especially cats. At Harriet’s request, her service will be private, with graveside services officiated by Chaplain Todd Reish.
